IT’S TIME TO CHECK - YOUR SKIN

Media reports suggest that the rate of Melanoma will increase due to the cost of seeing a GP. Let me tell you, a GP that isn't specifically trained in Melanoma, may check your skin, but may not identify one or could brush off a concern you have about a wound that won't heal, just because it's not their speciality & they are time poor!

How can you get the care you need?

Self-checking is a great start. Be skin aware.

Know your skin.

Know its lumps & bumps & spots & birthmarks & scars & everything that makes your skin YOU!

Then if you find anything suspicious, make an appointment with a skin specialist. Specifically a DERMATOLOGIST.

A Dermatologist is specifically trained to know your skin. They can diagnose & treat more than 3000 conditions that affect the skin, hair & nails.

Alternatively, you may want to find a DERMATOSCOPIST! They are the ones specifically trained to look for SKIN CANCER. A full head to toe examination can take only 30 minutes and you get a report of anything suspect to keep a watchful eye on. If anything terrifying is found during your consult, then a referral is also usually arranged.

The BEST defence against Skin Cancer is Sun Protection!

The next best defence is getting regular Skin Checks!

Are you going to check your skin today?
