Beyond Lipstick: New Ways to Love Your Lips

Liptember is all about a pop of colour that sparks a conversation. Thirty days, thirty shades, thirty conversations. But if there’s one thing I’ve learned in my six years of doing this challenge, it’s that lipstick alone doesn’t tell the whole story.

Behind every bright lip is the prep and care that makes it shine. This week, I want to share a few products that help keep your lips looking (and feeling) their best. Plus something new I’ve created to make this year’s Liptember even more meaningful.

Lip Liner Love

Before LipSense, I was obsessed with my Savvy Lip Liner. I always had a spare on hand as it was frequently out of stock. Since I started using LipSense, I haven’t needed one.

A company like SeneGence doesn’t just sit idol in the beauty industry. It keeps developing and expanding its line. So back in April this year, they released their new Lipsense Long-Lasting Lip Liner Pencils. What a hit! Lip liner has come a long way since the days of heavy outlines. SeneGence liners glide on smoothly, and help to define the lips to create "fuller, perfectly contoured, and conditioned lips". If LipSense Cream is your favourite, consider one of the new eight liners to give you a little extra fullness. Shades available are Nude, Mauve Blush, Neutral Rose, Pink Petal, Rustic Maple, Rich Umber, Cherry Blaze, and Dusty Plum.

Lip Oils = Instant Comfort

One of the newest products in our lip range is the Glowify Sheer Silk Lip Oil. Think of it as a skincare treatment and a glossy finish rolled into one. It hydrates, nourishes, and feels amazing when lips need a little extra TLC. It’s also perfect for those that consider our glosses too ‘sticky’. If wearing bold colours on your lips aren’t your thing, this is a delicious way to still give your lips a pop of colour (they are lilac & mint flavoured). Shades available are Lilac Mist, Rose Water, Glazed Cherry, and Silk Berry.

New Shades to Play With

This Liptember I’ve been pulling out colours I don’t normally reach for. And that’s the point, plus it’s fun! SeneGence has released some gorgeous new shades recently, from playful pinks to deep berries. Each colour has its own personality, and I love how one swipe can completely change the mood of a look. Last week, Boysenberry Satin Cream was voted on as the colour of the day. Old colours have been reintroduced this week (Earth and Fire) and look out for brand new LipSense colours Sunrise and Berry Noir coming to a daily vote post soon.

Why Postcards?

This year, I’m adding something new to my Liptember campaign, Postcards.

I know what you might be thinking. Aren’t they a bit old-fashioned?

Yes. And that’s exactly why I love them.

In a world of endless scrolling and likes that disappear in seconds, a postcard is real, tangible, lasting. You can stick it on your fridge, tuck it in your diary, or prop it up on your desk. It’s a little reminder that someone thought of you, that you matter.

And that’s what Liptember is about, isn’t it? Showing up for ourselves and each other.

Liptember Boxes

So this year, you’ll see me wearing 30 different lip colours in 30 days, sharing stories, and sending postcards. I’ve even created some limited-edition Liptember Boxes that bring it all together. A splash of colour, a touch of handmade care, and a reminder of why these conversations matter.

These boxes are a way for me to combine the things I love (makeup, creativity, and connection) while raising funds and awareness for women’s mental health.

Liptember has never just been about the makeup for me. It’s about what the makeup represents: confidence, courage, and conversations that matter. Whether it’s through lipstick, postcards, or little boxes filled with love, I hope this month encourages you to find your own way of showing up.
