The Beaute Within – Week 3: The Tin Man – The Heart of It All

If I only had a heart…

The Tin Man’s story has always tugged at mine. Not because he wanted a heart but because he believed he didn’t have one.

How many times have we done that too? Pushed through, numbed out, told ourselves we’re fine when we’re actually running on fumes. It’s easy to armor up when life feels too heavy, to build walls around a heart that’s just trying to heal.

But here’s the secret: the heart doesn’t disappear. It just gets quiet.

This week, as part of The Beaute Within, I’ve been thinking about how often we treat emotional rest like a reward instead of a requirement. We recharge our phones more often than our hearts. Maybe it’s time to change that.

The Tin Man reminds us that softness is strength. That caring, even when it hurts, is what keeps us human. That rust can be polished, and hearts can always beat again.

The Look:

Soft metallic eyes and a natural rose-toned lip for a gentle glow. It’s a hint of shine, like light catching on tin on a sunny day.
I used a matte base with Silver Shimmer ShadowSense as a highlight on the eyes and Plumeria LipSense with Silver Glitter Gloss.

The Craft:

This week’s buttons are all about hearts. Imperfect and beautiful. A reminder that every mark, every scratch, tells a story of care and courage.

Whether your heart feels wide open or a little rusty right now, be gentle with it. Look after it. Be kind to it.

And remember, as the Wizard said to The Tin Man, “A heart is not judged by how much you love, but by how much you are loved by others.” Book in for your annual heart health check up, just to be safe. No wants a broken heart.
