Mental health doesn't discriminate.
Liptember 2024 - Day 20
Mental health is no different to any other medical condition. It does not discriminate.
The 2024 Liptember research found the minority groups significantly more impacted by mental health challenges include those in Indigenous communities, those who faced homelessness/poverty, LGBTQIA+, pregnant women and those with comorbidities (two or more medical conditions).
I'm sure at some point you have felt like you were in the minority and know how that felt. I relate mostly to the baby brain associated with being pregnant and then afterwards as well. However, I've also lived in an indigenous community and know how proud and unassuming these women can be so it is extremely difficult for them to ask for help outside their community.
